COATEX
All animals require optimum nutrition to maintain good health. For some cats and dogs in certain situations, extra nutrient supplementation can help, in addition to diet. One such group of nutrients are the Omega 3 and Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs).

Skin Health in Pets
There are many signs of potential skin and coat issues.
If your pet has issues with hair or dull coat, sensitive, irritated skin or repeated issues, it is important to see your vet.

Why Should I See My Vet?
We believe vets are best placed to advise on the right course of action for your pet. Maintaining a healthy diet and keeping your pet clean are great ways to help your pet stay healthy. If your dog or cat shows any of the signs listed above, you should contact your vet as soon as possible for advice.
Next Steps
Our products are only available through veterinary practices. To find your closest vet practice stockist, please contact us.
Feeding Guidelines
Coatex EFA is a nutritional supplement that comes in either a gel capsule or a liquid pump, to suit the needs of you and your pet.
Your vet will advise on the quantity to feed.
Both can be given alone or mixed in with food.

Ingredients
Coatex EFA contains a nutritional blend of Omega 3 and Omega 6 EFAs. The levels are specifically designed to help health in dogs and cats, and provide a better blend of ingredients than using a single EFA source such as evening primrose oil.
-
Linoleic acid (LA) – an omega 6 that is particularly useful in maintaining optimal skin turnover and barrier health
-
Gamma linolenic acid (GLA) – an omega 6 that is not very widely available but is very useful in maintaining healthy skin
-
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) – an omega 3 that is known to help with the many bodily functions including skin health
-
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) – an omega 3 for additional skin support
-
Vitamin E – a potent antioxidant
-
Vitamin A – a lipid soluble vitamin that helps to maintain healthy skin and coat
-
Vitamin D – a lipid soluble vitamin that aids skin health and turnover

-

-
Apply a second application – Gently massage the shampoo into your pets fur

Wait – Leave on the coat for five to ten minutes
-
Final rinse – Thoroughly rinse off your pet, making sure to rinse around the ears and belly
-
Dry properly – Have several warm dry towels ready to dry off your pet

There are some stark differences between human skin and your pets skin, for example the cells in human skin are thicker than that of dogs and our cells regenerate at a faster rate. Because of this, a wider range of chemicals are often found in human shampoos than in those specially formulated for dogs. Speak to your vet for further guidance.
